The Kastle PX 81 is a sporty carving ski built with an all-mountain influence for skiers that want a slightly wider platform than a true frontside carving ski.

Kastle is often regarded as the benchmark for both quality and performance, and those same accolades are highlighted even in their intermediate to advanced level skis and not just the so called “high performance” skis.

What’s great about these skis is that you get great on-piste performance with a bit more forgiveness, thanks to the construction.

This ski uses a Poplar and Beech wood core which keeps it relatively light and snappy. Added to the core are fiberglass and two stringers of carbon for improved power and stability without making the ski feel overbearing and unwieldly.

Moving outward, a sidewall construction drives power to the edge of the ski for the edge hold you would expect out of a frontside ski like this. Like all other Kastle skis, you’ll find a cut-out in the tip which is referred to as Hollowtech 3.0 which is intended to remove material from the tip of the ski to reduce weight and improve stability through vibration damping.

This ski is great because it doesn’t take the world’s best skier’s to properly enjoy it. Its more forgiving flex paired with a long side cut make it easy to turn and its slightly wider waist width give you a bit more to stand on in comparison to a super narrow carving ski. A wide range of skiers can enjoy the PX 81, and whether you’re looking for an introduction into high-end frontside skis or you want something that doesn’t come with the weight of metal laminates, the PX 81 would be a great choice.
